Responders from the East Northport Fire Department rescued passengers at a crash on Third Avenue and Second Street in East Northport on Sunday at about 6:10 pm.

The crash involved a car and a pickup truck that had overturned onto its side.

Firefighters used heavy rescue tools to cut out the windshield of the Toyota Tacoma pickup to free the passenger. They also removed the door of a Hyundai Elantra to extricate its driver.

Forty firefighters and EMS personnel were on the scene, as well as two heavy rescue trucks, two ambulances and fire police, all under the command of East Northport First Assistant Chief Joe Ervin.

An additional ambulance was requested from the Greenlawn Fire Department.

East Northport and Greenlawn rescue squad ambulances transported two men and a woman who suffered injuries to Huntington Hospital.
