 | Bicyclist killed by car on Route 25 identified

May 31, 2008 | 10:05 AM Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 21-year-old bicyclist in Selden on Saturday. On Monday, police identified the victim as Santos Javier Ramos, 21, of Selden.
Edmund Fallica, 52, of 57 Thomas St., Coram, was driving a 2004 Mazda eastbound on Route 25 in Selden, 1/8 mile east of the intersection with North Bicycle Path, when his car collided with a male bicyclist who was riding across Route 25 at 1:45 a.m.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and has not yet been identified. Fallica was not injured.
The car was impounded for a safety inspection. The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
