Selden bicyclist killed in Route 25 accident

A bicyclist was struck and killed early Saturday morning while riding on Route 25 in Selden.

Santos Javier Ramos, 21, of Cedarhurst Avenue in Selden was killed

after colliding with a car driven by Edmund Fallica, 52, of Thomas Street in Coram. Fallica was driving his 2004 Mazda east on Route 25 just east of the North Bicycle Path intersection at roughly 1:45 am when his vehicle struck Ramos, who was crossing Route 25, police said.

Ramos was pronounced dead at the scene. Fallica was not injured and his car was impounded for a safety inspection, according to police reports. No charges have been filed and the investigation is continuing.
