Monkey see, monkey do

The owner of a convenience store on Hallock Avenue in Port Jefferson called at 4:30 am July 1 to report an unknown white male about 30 years old and 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a hooded jacket and jeans, was banging on the back door of the complainant's building. The complainant stated he observed this activity on the security camera and confronted the subject, asking him what he was doing. The subject replied, "All the kids in the neighborhood do this." Police advised the complainant to call if the subject

returns.

Boat burglars

A woman called at 1:35 pm July 6 to report a larceny in progress at a location in the harbor off Broadway in Port Jefferson. The complainant said she was observing two female subjects, one black and one white, take items from a nearby boat.

Fireworks

A resident of Ross Street in Port Jefferson called the police at 7:31 pm July 4 to report she heard a loud bang and noticed a transformer on a pole near her backyard was on fire. The Terryville Fire Department and LIPA workers arrived and got the situation under control.

No picnic for homeowner

A resident of East Broadway in Port Jefferson called at 10 pm June 18 to report being disturbed by neighborhood youths who keep running through her backyard and often leave picnic benches in the woods behind her home. The complainant stated the activity is an ongoing problem.

Cars damaged

A complainant called at 10:10 pm July 2 to report his vehicle had been damaged by an unknown person while parked at a location on East Main Street in Port Jefferson.

A resident of Windward Court in Port Jefferson called at 3:20 pm July 4 to report finding a round mark the size of a quarter on her vehicle and stated that although she did not know what caused the damage there has been an ongoing problem with neighbors sitting on her car. Another resident at the same location called within minutes to report a similar complaint

regarding scratches on her vehicle.

Tick sick

At 9:47 am June 29 a resident of Sands Lane in Port Jefferson called to state he had pulled a tick off his leg and was feeling light headed and clammy. Volunteers from the Port Jefferson volunteer ambulance company responded and transported the complainant to Mather Hospital.

Fore! Links rage?

A complainant called at 5:30 am June 30 to report a golf cart had been damaged by an unknown person sometime during the night while at a location on Fairway Drive in Port Jefferson.

Home burglary

A resident of North Country Road in Port Jefferson called at 8 am July 2 to report he discovered his home had been burglarized by an unknown person sometime over the last 10 hours.

No one will be watching us

A complainant called at noon July 2 to report a family of five fighting among themselves out on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station.

Door glass smashed

A resident of High Street in Port Jefferson called at 1:15 am July 3 to report she heard a loud noise of glass breaking and found the glass panel on her front door had been shattered by an unknown means.

Dog gone

A resident of Dayton Avenue in Port Jefferson Station called at 2:30 pm June 28 to report an unknown person had stolen her pet Yorkie terrier.

Stop, thief!

A resident of Terryville Road in Port Jefferson Station called at 7:45 pm July 2 to report her home had just been burglarized by an unknown subject, who was currently being chased down the street by her husband.
