Woman sought in identity theft

Suffolk County Identity Theft Detectives and Crime Stoppers are asking the public's help with identifying a woman who they allege attempted to use a forged driver's license for a credit application.

On June 13 at approximately 11:30 am, police report, a woman entered Home Depot Expo located at 1 Garrett Place, Commack and applied for store credit.

The store employee noticed that the driver's license was a fake and confronted the woman. The suspect fled the store, leaving the fake license behind. Police are trying to determine the woman's identity and location.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential and the caller will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
