Burglar(s) on the prowl in Terryville, Port Jeff Station

A resident of Shenandoah Boulevard in Terryville called at 4:30 am Dec. 12 to report that sometime during the previous hour an unknown person had entered her home and removed her pocketbook.

A resident of David Lane in Terryville called at 3:50 am Dec. 12 to report he was sleeping when he heard a loud bang as the back window of his residence was apparently opened and closed by an exiting intruder.

Police are investigating an incident possibly linked to the above reports. Another resident of Shenandoah Boulevard in Terryville called at 4:20 am Dec. 12 to report that he had been awakened by suspicious sounds inside his house near the kitchen. The complainant stated that upon further investigation he found his kitchen window open and observed numerous wet footprints leading through his house.

Burglaries in PJ Station

A resident of Forest Avenue in Port Jefferson Station called to report a burglary at his home. The complainant stated an unknown person had broken in through the back door and stolen items sometime during the day of Dec. 11.

A resident of Crystal Brook Hollow Road in Port Jefferson Station called at 6:10 pm Dec. 12 to report a burglary. The complainant stated that she had been away from her house for seven hours and upon her return she noticed signs her home had been broken into and felt the intruders may still have been inside.

Ferry fender bender

A female complainant called at 4:55 pm Dec. 12 to report that her vehicle had sustained damage to the passenger side while on the Port Jefferson Ferry crossing over from Bridgeport. Police advised the complainant to seek a civil suit against the ferry company if so desired.

Drunk aided

Police received at 7:15 pm Dec. 12 an anonymous report of an intoxicated male in need of police assistance at a location on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station. Officers determined the male subject was also involved in an earlier incident at a nearby thrift store where he had refused to leave when asked by the management. The Terryville Fire Department also responded and transported the subject to Mather Hospital.

Don't mess around with Jim

A resident of Fairbanks Street in Port Jefferson Station called at 5:52 pm Dec. 12 to report a subject, identified only by the first name Jim, had come to the complainant's house to collect money which the subject stated was owed him. The complainant claimed he told the subject, "Take me to small claims court," after which the subject replied he would be back and the complainant would "get his." Police reported the complainant gave no further information regarding the subject.

Barking up the wrong tree?

A resident of Old Town Road in Port Jefferson Station called at 2:21 am Dec. 13 to report being bothered by the incessant barking of a dog nearby. Police checked the surrounding area but could not find the cacophony-causing canine. Officers also stated the complainant would not answer the door upon their return to his house.

Trespass

A resident of Concord Road in Belle Terre called to report unknown persons had trespassed on his property and caused damage during the wee hours of Dec. 9.

Phoning it in

A resident of Superior Street in Terryville called at 8 am Dec. 1 to report that she was being harassed via the telephone.

Keyboarding complaint

A resident of Todd Court in Port Jefferson Station called at 5 pm Dec. 10 to report she had been harassed by objectionable emails from an unknown sender.
