A Selden man was arrested Friday and charged with serving alcohol to minors at a house party police allege he hosted.

Sixth Precinct officers reported they were notified by neighbors that a house on Mooney Pond Road, Selden, had been hosting parties on the weekends and were charging up to $5 at the door. Neighbors reported that the attendees, primarily college students, would then have their hand stamped.

Sixth Precinct COPE and patrol officers responded to the neighborhood complaints of underage drinking on Jan. 20 and said they found 44 party goers in the home, including a number of teens. Officers allege that alcohol was provided for the attendees.

Justin Lawson, 20, of the residence, was issued a field appearance ticket for violating the Suffolk County Social Host Law and will be arraigned at a later date.
