A bomb threat called into Suffolk County Police Wednesday night resulted in the evacuation of one building on the Stony Brook University campus and a search of that and one other building. No bombs were found.

A statement from SBU said University Police were notified by the SCPD at about 8 pm of a threat "that there was a bomb on the Stony Brook campus. No specific details were given by the caller." SBU officers immediately increased patrols. While on patrol, the statement said, "an officer found a note attached to a campus phone indicating that two bombs would explode — one in the Javits Building and one in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Building." The Javits Building was already locked up for the night so no evacuation was necessary. The Sciences building was evacuated and both structures were searched by SCPD Emergency Services and K9 units. "… no evidence of explosives were found."

The statement from Stony Brook said the investigation is continuing.
