The Huntington Booster Club is sponsoring summer lacrosse camps for both boys and girls entering grades 3-8 at Huntington High School.

The boys' camp will run from July 13 through 16. Sessions will be held each afternoon from 2-5 pm. Huntington varsity lacrosse coaches Paul McDermott and Eric Triolo will direct the camp. All aspects of lacrosse will be covered. Instructional games will also be held.

Camp sessions will begin with stretching and agility drills, along with line drills and four corner passing. Participants will rotate through various skill stations before scrimmaging with one another. Participants need to bring a helmet, mouthpiece, shoulder and arm pads, a glove and a stick each day.

The session for girls will run from June 29 through July 3 from 5-8 pm each day. The camp will offer a program for those ranging from beginners to players entering the junior varsity level. Participants will be taught solid fundamentals and techniques and develop the skills necessary for success.

Current Huntington varsity head coach Nancy Wilson will serve as program director. At Arcadia University she was a four-year lacrosse player, winning the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Defender of the Year Award as a college junior. Prior to taking over the Blue Devil program, she led Harborfields to several Suffolk crowns.

Participants are required to bring goggles, a mouthpiece and a lacrosse stick each day. The camp will focus on both technical and tactical training.

For a copy of the camp brochure, log onto the Huntington School District's website at www.hufsd.edu. Click on the School Community link and then the Booster Club tab on the left side of the screen and then select Forms & Files or click on the Athletics link and then on Summer Programs.

Tuition is $115 for each participant and a 10 percent sibling discount is available. Each camper will receive a t-shirt. In case of rain, the camps will be held in the school gym.
