Neighbor's landscapers misjudged?
Police Report

A male resident of Intervale Road in East Setauket called at 1:30 pm May 2 to report several persons were cutting down trees in his backyard. Upon police arrival the officers spoke to the complainant and his next door neighbor. The neighbor stated that he is having landscaping work done in his backyard and he would tell the workers to be more attentive to stay on his side of the property line.

Assault
A male complainant called at 11:50 pm May 10 from a location on College Drive in Stony Brook to report he was just assaulted and was bleeding. According to the complainant he was involved in a fight with a known assailant and as a result suffered several facial lacerations. A police investigation in continuing.

A male resident of Bobcat Lane in Setauket called at 11 am May 1 to report a dispute with a 21-year-old male who was soliciting in the complainant's neighborhood. According to the complainant, the verbal altercation began when the subject cursed at him, however, the subject who produced credentials indicating that he was working for a cleaning company based in Grand Junction, Colo., told police that he did indeed curse at complainant but only in response to profanities directed at him by the complainant.

Dog v. rabbits
A female resident of Lubber Street in Stony Brook called at 1 pm May 5 to report that a husky was loose in her backyard and trying to get at her pet rabbits in their hutch. Police arrived at the scene, secured the dog and notified Brookhaven animal control of the situation. Soon after the dog's owner showed up and retrieved his menacing malamute.

Harassment via text
A male complainant called at 9:50 am May 9 from a location on Stonywood Road in Setauket to report he is being harassed by a known subject who keeps sending him unwanted text messages to his cell phone.
