Police Officer Francesco Saracino was honored as the Suffolk County Police Department's Sixth Precinct Cop of the Year and Randy Caparco was honored with the Public Service Award at the department's annual awards ceremony on May 12. Officer Saracino and Caparco were recognized for their efforts to save trapped occupants during a motor vehicle crash in Farmingville in 2008. Officer Saracino was also awarded the Bravery Silver Medal.
