Motorcyclist seriously injured

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a Kings Park motorcyclist Sunday afternoon.

Daniel Taylor was riding a 1972 Honda motorcycle south on Harned Road in Commack when he lost control of the bike and collided with a 2001 Ford pickup truck at 2:33 pm. The pickup truck was driven by Omar Martinez, 38, of Rutledge Street, Brentwood.

Taylor, 36, of Amapola Lane, was airlifted by Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
