June 11, 2009 | 10:54 AM
The 7th annual Teeny Awards was held Sunday, June 7 during a gala ceremony at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.

Nominees, their families and local celebrity presenters filed into the theater decked out in their finest attire, the lobby abuzz with excitement.

At the start of the show, each of the 56 nominees was recognized on stage. Master of ceremonies David Brandenburg, of Hamptons Shakespeare Festival, continued the Tony-like event — complete with award presentations and musical numbers — with entertaining wit.

The Teeny Awards is a student theater arts recognition program of the East End Arts Council and the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center patterned after the Tony Awards. Volunteer judges attend high school plays and select nominees in each of a variety of categories, culminating in this gala awards ceremony.
