Six robbers arrested for PJS theft

Suffolk County Police Monday arrested six men for allegedly robbing two gas station employees when they went to drop off a bank deposit in Port Jefferson Station.

Two employees of a local gas station were making a bank deposit at the HSBC Bank branch on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station at approximately 9:25 am when they were approached by two men. One of the two men displayed what appeared to be a pistol and the men demanded money. A struggle ensued and the two men fled in a vehicle southbound on Route 112 with the bank deposit.

Suffolk County Police apprehended one vehicle on County Road 83 in Selden. All three occupants, Duishaun Johnson, 27, Sean Berkley, 26, and Jermaine Joseph, 25, all of the Bronx, were arrested and charged by the Sixth Squad with robbery 1st degree.

A second vehicle was apprehended by Suffolk County deputy sheriffs on the Long Island Expressway westbound at exit 53. All three occupants, James Johnson, 30, of the Bronx, Nihat Baytemur, 38, of Brooklyn, and Burcin Temel, 24, of Sayville, were arrested and also charged by the Sixth Squad with robbery 1st degree.

All six men were held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on July 14.
