July 22, 2009 | 01:42 PM
Huntington High School's Class of 1959 is planning a 50th reunion for Oct. 16-18. An organizing committee is trying to locate members of the class, the first to graduate from the current building located at the intersection of Oakwood and McKay Roads. The event will coincide with the high school's homecoming festivities, which will be held that same weekend.

The Class of 1959 reunion will kick-off with a Friday, Oct. 16 "icebreaker" at the Huntington Yacht Club and continue Saturday, Oct 17 at the Huntington High School football game. At halftime of the contest, the 1958 Suffolk County championship basketball team will be recognized. A lavish dinner dance will be held Saturday night at the Huntington Crescent Club, followed by a farewell brunch Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Head of the Bay Club in Huntington.

For information, to register or to volunteer, contact Class of 1959 members Jerry Asher (washer@courts.state.ny.us) or Pat Taylor-Santelli (pats@optonline.net). A special reunion website has been created at www.huntingtonhigh59.com.
