Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon
August 13, 2009 | 03:50 PM
The local office of the Muscular Dystrophy Association is looking for people interested in volunteering at the local 2009 Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon pledge center. Volunteers will be needed during the telethon on Sunday, Sept. 6, and Monday, Sept. 7. Volunteers will answer phones and prepare mailings. This year for the first time the local pledge center will be at the Ruth S. Harley University Center at Adelphi

University in Garden City.

Funds raised will benefit individuals and families in Nassau and Suffolk counties, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx.

This is a great opportunity for community members to not only help out those affected by neuromuscular disease, but also to be a part of the nationally known Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon. Those interested in becoming a telethon volunteer can contact Joanne Bowsman or Carolyn Miskulin at 516-358-1012.
