If you've ever driven down Larkfield Road and recoiled at the sight of overgrown weeds and trees, next Wednesday, Aug. 26 is your chance to make a difference in giving the community thoroughfare a leaner, cleaner look. The East Northport Chamber of Commerce and Garden Club ask residents and merchants to pitch in a pruner or a mower or a leaf blower or what have you — in any way possible, lend a hand! The heat is no excuse not to participate. The organizers had the good sense to schedule the event at 6 pm, a cool, after-work hour that will enable as many people as possible to get in on the action.
So grab a rake, call up those neighbors you've been too busy to see this summer and get down to the East Northport Cleanup! Call 261-3573.
