POLICE REPORT Clubbing in Rocky Pt.

September 03, 2009 | 10:23 AM An adult male complainant called at 1 am Aug. 26 to report being hit over the head with a "billy club" by an unknown subject while at a location on Broadway, just north of 25A in Rocky Point.
Dark marauder A resident of Garland Road in Rocky Point called at 12:34 am Aug. 23 to report an unknown person had vandalized her property and driven away from the scene in a dark vehicle.
Vehicles targeted in SWR
Three residents of Gabriel Mills Road in Wading River called at 6 am Aug. 25 to report an unknown person had entered their vehicles and stolen items over the past seven hours.
Three residents of Frost Lane in Wading River called the same morning with similar complaints.
Police received another call at 6 am Aug. 25 from a resident of Defense Hill Road in East Shoreham who reported her vehicle's moon roof vandalized in what she believes was an attempt to break in to the car after 1 am that morning.
Harassment A resident of Hallock Lane in Rocky Point called at 2:31 am Aug. 29 to report three or four male youths had assaulted his son and fled the area. The complainant stated that he does not believe any weapons were involved in the incident.
Grand larceny A resident of Mount Sinai–Coram Road in Mount Sinai called at 8 am Aug. 25 to report an unknown subject had entered her vehicle and stolen the GPS and other items while the car was parked at her house.
First time in the woods? A hiker in the Rocky Point forest preserve bordered by Lower Rocky Point Road and Hagerman Landing Road in Rocky Point called at 5:18 pm Aug. 21 to report finding what appeared to the complainant to be decomposed human remains. Police investigated and concluded that the bones were not of human origin and most likely came from a deer.
Rescue not required A resident of Culross Drive in Rocky Point called at 8 pm Aug. 22 to report two people stranded on a large rock a few hundred yards from the shore about a quarter mile to the west of Hallock Landing Beach. The Sound Beach Fire Department dispatched its marine rescue unit to the scene and found the two young male subjects had a boat moored to the north side of the rock unseen from the shore. The youths explained they were trying to fish while sitting on the rock. The subjects boarded their boat and left the area safely while the rescue unit was still in the area.
Flaming bag of eggs? A resident of Maple Road in Rocky Point called at 9:15 pm Aug. 23 to report an unknown occupant of a vehicle had thrown a flaming bag full of eggs at his house. According to the complainant, the bag was burning on his property and the subjects had fled the area.
Neighborhood sound track A resident of Dawn Road in Rocky Point called at 9 am Aug. 25 to report a dispute with a neighbor over a noise disturbance. The complainant claims that the situation has become an ongoing problem with the subject disturbing the peace on the block by playing a television with the volume up high at all hours.
Drunk brawler A resident of Walnut Drive in East Shoreham called at 5:45 pm Aug. 23 to report an intoxicated male subject was having a fist fight with the complainant's husband in front of her house. The situation was resolved upon police arrival.
Open season in yard A resident of Fox Lane in East Shoreham called 2 pm Aug. 25 to report that a neighbor shot a squirrel on his property. The complainant said the subject has been shooting animals for some time.
