Brass & grass — but no license

An 18-year-old resident of Jefferson Boulevard in Port Jefferson Station was arrested Aug. 21 after being pulled over by police on Oak Street near Norwood Park in Port Jefferson Station and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance/narcotic drug with intent to sell, criminal possession of a weapon (brass knuckles), motor vehicle license violation (having no license) and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Grand larceny
A female complainant called at 7 pm Aug. 16 to report her wallet stolen by an unknown person while she was shopping at a location on Nesconset Highway near Canal Road in Port Jefferson Station.

A proprietor of a convenience store on Hallock Avenue in Port Jefferson Station called at 11:30 pm Aug. 28 to report a white male had entered his store and stolen a quantity of Lotto tickets before fleeing the scene in a gray Jeep.

Criminal mischief
A resident of Justin Court in Terryville called at 3 am Aug. 23 to report that three unknown males vandalized the fence surrounding his house and then fled in an unknown direction.

Asleep at the wheel
A passing motorist called at 1:34 am Aug. 23 from a location near Jayne Boulevard and Nesconset Highway in Terryville to report the female operator of a blue Nissan in the turning lane was asleep behind the wheel. Police found the subject awake and pulled her car into a nearby parking lot. The subject stated she had felt too tired to drive and realized she should pull over and for a short time nodded off to sleep while waiting in the turning lane. No further police action was necessary.

Kicking it on King
A resident of King Street in Port Jefferson Station called at noon Aug. 12 to report the passenger side door on her vehicle had been kicked in by an unknown person the previous night.

Left the scene
A male motorist called at 1 am Aug. 15 to report his vehicle damaged by the unknown occupant of a Silver Dodge Durango who fled the scene. The incident took place near the intersection of Nesconset Highway and Canal Road in Terryville, according to the complainant.

Brazen burglary
A resident of Shenandoah Boulevard in Terryville called at 5:15 am Aug. 25 to report a burglary in her dwelling. According to the complainant an unknown person walked in through the back door of her house and grabbed several pocketbooks before fleeing from the premises.

Assault
Police reported at 3:15 am Aug. 26 that a 32-year-old male victim of an assault was being treated at a hospital emergency room for his injuries. According to the complainant he was involved in verbal dispute with two unknown males at an unspecified location in Port Jefferson. The complainant stated the confrontation grew into a fight during which he was cut on his arm and thumb with an unidentified sharp object and required medical treatment.

Assault
Police reported at 3:30 am Aug. 27 that a 45-year-old male victim had been assaulted a short time earlier at a location on Ardmer Street in Port Jefferson and was being medically treated for injuries sustained.

Petit larceny
A male complainant called at 11:10 pm Aug. 22 to report an unknown person had broken into his vehicle and stolen items while the car was in the parking lot of a shopping center near Route 112 and North Bicycle Path in Port Jefferson Station.

Take it out on his ride
A resident of Carroll Street in Port Jefferson Station called at 1 am Aug. 22 to report a known female had damaged his vehicle while the car was parked at his house.
