September 10, 2009 | 10:38 AM The manager of a convenience store on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station called at 8:50 am Aug. 27 to report a known male had entered the store and stolen a can of beer. The complainant stated a store employee was chasing the subject in the parking lot.
May-December squabble A 50-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, both residents of Maple Avenue in Port Jefferson Station, were arrested Sept. 1 at a location on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a disturbance they were causing by cursing, yelling and refusing to move on.
Pushed and pulled
A 19-year-old resident of Greenhaven Drive in Port Jefferson Station was arrested on Aug. 30 at his home and charged with criminal mischief and harassment by physical contact in connection with threatening and causing alarm to a known female subject who had her hair pulled by the defendant after he pushed her.
Assault A 35-year-old male resident of William Street in Port Jefferson Station was arrested Aug. 27 at a location on Middle Country Road in Selden and charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon. The charge stems from an attack the defendant made upon a male subject, hitting him on the head with a blunt object and inflicting several fractures and head trauma. The subject was treated for his injuries at Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Bad check leads to bust A 17-year-old male defendant residing on Fisk Road in Holtsville was arrested on Aug. 26 while on Barnum Avenue in Port Jefferson and charged with possessing a forged instrument, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana. The charges stem from the defendant being apprehended while trying to pass a bad check at a business near the arrest location.
Disturbance A resident of Oakland Avenue in Port Jefferson Station called at 9:25 am Aug. 25 to report hearing an unknown person walk up to the front door and wiggle the handle and kick the door. Police checked the area with negative results.
Festival burglar A vendor at a Greek festival on Sheep Pasture Road in Port Jefferson called at 4 pm Aug. 21 to report an unknown person had entered her booth and stolen items after 10:30 pm the previous night.
Home burglaries A resident of Superior Street in Terryville reported at 7:30 pm Aug. 31 her home burglarized by an unknown person.
A resident of Clifton Place in Port Jefferson Station called at 4 pm Aug. 31 to report his house burglarized and jewelry missing.
A resident of Main Street in Port Jefferson called at 9:45 am Aug. 28 to report the skylight of his house broken and items missing from his home.
Robbery A male complainant called at 12:55 pm Aug. 27 to report being robbed by an unknown subject at a location on Main Street in Port Jefferson.
Strong-armed A male complainant called at 8:20 pm Aug. 30 to report being accosted by an unknown male on Piedmont Drive in Port Jefferson Station who used force to wrest several items from the complainant before fleeing the scene.
Tire slashed A resident of Roe Avenue in Port Jefferson Station called at 11:35 am Aug. 30 to report an unknown person had slashed a tire on her vehicle parked outside of the house. The complainant stated the subject fled in his car before she could get an accurate description of the vehicle.
