Box town in Centerport on Friday
September 17, 2009 | 11:13 AM
An impromptu gathering of old refrigerator boxes in Centerport will become home for the night for about 30 local teens this Friday as they seek to expand their awareness of homelessness and poverty, as they prepare for a trip to Amatitan, Nicaragua.

The teens will continue a multi-year project of home building and village improvements there.

The Centerport event, starting at 5:30 pm at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 53 Prospect Road, includes a simple bread and soup supper.
