The sun shone brightly — on Sunday at least — at this year's Gallery North Outdoor Art Show, the not-for-profit's 44th annual, where thousands of visitors enjoyed the art, the crafts, the food, the music and meeting old friends. Saturday's inclement weather did not deter the artists — too much — at the rain or shine event, but held the "crowd" to a brave few who wandered the displays under umbrellas.

Over 175 artisans displayed their talents under covered awnings and tents lining both sides of North Country Road, into the parking area of the Three Village Historical Society and wrapping behind Gallery North under the trees. The artists came from as far away as New Jersey, Massachusetts and Florida.

A puppet show entertained the youngsters and their parents. Many dog owners in Three Village brought with them their cute and friendly pets to browse the closed-off roadway. The tempting aroma of kettle popcorn — the vendors came all the way from Pennsylvania — wafted over the crowd. Hot roasted corn on the cob and cold ice cream pleased children and adults alike. As always, a great event for Gallery North and the Three Village community.
