An HSBC Bank branch in Jefferson Shopping Plaza, at 574 Route 112, was robbed today.

Police describe the suspect as a white man in his 30s, approximately 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 with a medium build and acne on his face. He was wearing a white ski hat with a Yankees emblem on the front, a white-hooded zip-up sweatshirt with the word South Pole written on the front and jeans.

Witnesses allege that the suspect approached a teller with a note demanding cash and threatening violence. The teller complied with the robber's demands and gave him cash from the drawer. The robber fled the bank and was seen heading north from the bank parking lot.

Anyone with information may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
