PJS Bank robbed Thursday

Suffolk County Police Major Case Investigations Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Thursday at a Teacher's Federal Credit Union branch in Port Jefferson Station.

A man entered the bank, located at 450 Route 112, and approached a teller at 12:20 pm with a note demanding cash and threatening the use of a gun. The teller complied with the robber's demands and gave him cash from the drawer. The robber fled the bank, heading north.

The robber is described as Hispanic with a light complexion, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin to medium build, in his late 20s to early 30s with a thin mustache and goatee. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, a black knit cap with a gray stripe and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
