A female complainant called at 11:10 pm Oct. 30 to report being harassed by a group of youths while shopping in a supermarket on Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station. According to the complainant she was surrounded inside the store by the unknown teenagers, some of whom immediately began making rude comments to her while others took pictures with their cell phones. The complainant further stated the youths eventually left the store and entered a 2004 Ford Explorer in the parking lot.

Police approached the vehicle by which time only one member of the group was still in the car. During a subsequent interview, that subject told officers the incident was part of a "scavenger hunt" which includes having your picture taken while using "really bad" pickup lines on a total stranger.

Police sent the moron to his domicile on Washington Avenue in Port Jefferson Station where officers spoke to his parents about their son's activities. Police noted the youth's parents appeared to show very little concern over the situation.
