After rescue, cat has 8 lives left

A resident of Trapper Lane in Setauket called at 3 pm Nov. 5 to report a cat was stuck in a storm drain and requested police assistance to rescue the animal. Police arrived and managed to remove the feline with eight of its lives still intact.

Historic conflict on Ballad Lane
A female resident of Ballad Lane in Stony Brook called at 5:05 pm Nov. 4 to report a female neighbor was waiting at the end of the block as she was walking home from work and began yelling at the complainant in an attempt to start a fight. The complainant told police there is an ongoing history of bad blood between the parties.

A resident of Emily Way in Setauket called at 12:56 am Nov. 2 to report a group of youths were causing a disturbance near her home. According to the complainant this was the third time that day she reported the ongoing problem.

Illegal neighbor dumping
A resident of Ballad Lane in Stony Brook called at 4:40 pm Nov. 2 to report witnessing a neighbor allegedly dumping chemicals illegally at a location nearby. The complainant requested the police document this incident.

Shopping stalker
A female complainant called at 8:21 pm Nov. 5 to request police assistance regarding an unknown male who had followed her as she shopped at a location on Nesconset Highway in Stony Brook. The complainant stated she decided to call police when the subject followed her into the parking lot. The alleged shopping stalker was gone upon police arrival.

Arrests
A 19-year-old male resident of Manchester Lane in Stony Brook was arrested Nov. 10 after being pulled over by police on the eastbound side of Nesconset Highway in Lake Grove and charged with driving while intoxicated. Police reported this was the defendant's first offense.

A 27-year-old male resident of South Jersey Avenue in Setauket was arrested at his home Nov. 10 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police reported the defendant has a previous conviction for the same offense.

A 43-year-old female resident of Blydenburgh Lane in Stony Brook was arrested Nov. 9 at her home and charged with possession of marijuana.

An 18-year-old male resident of Balin Avenue in Setauket was arrested Nov. 10 at a location on Wireless Road in South Setauket and charged with three counts of criminal possession of stolen property and grand larceny of articles valued at greater than $1,000. Police stated the charges are the result of the defendant being in possession of numerous items of stolen jewelry.

A 21-year-old male resident of Shinnecock Drive in Sound Beach was arrested Nov. 10 on Wireless Road in South Setauket and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in connection with the theft of various items of jewelry.
