Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Jane Bonner recently sponsored legislation to donate four quads or all-terrain vehicles to the Suffolk County Police Department 6th Precinct COPE unit and the Central Pine Barrens Joint Planning and Policy Commission. The vehicles, which were determined to be surplus by the town, were donated to assure continued enforcement of off the road violations committed in various locations in both the 6th Precinct and Pine Barrens areas, and to further the town's interest in promoting the health, safety and welfare of its residents.
