Huntington man dies in crash
December 01, 2009 | 10:35 AM
Second Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a Huntington man and seriously injured a Fort Salonga woman Monday.

Scott Mazzio, 19, was driving a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix east on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington at 2:30 pm when he lost control of the vehicle and struck an unoccupied flat-bed truck parked at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Warner Road.

Mazzio, of Warner Road, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Wet roads may have been a factor in the incident, noted Sergeant Steven Bluethgen, who said there were no signs that the driver was impaired by drugs or alcohol.

The passenger, Sarah Triola, 19, of Sunken Meadow Road, was also transported to Huntington Hospital where she was listed in serious condition.
