Kingsmen win League IV title Track
|
January 28, 2010 | 10:58 AM The Kings Park girls and boys track teams won the League IV championships. The girls earned 133 points, which was good enough for first place in the Suffolk County League IV winter track tourney, held at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood last weekend. The Kingsmen dominated the field taking four first places, five seconds and six third place finishes for 122 of their 133 total points.
"We have a strong and a deep team," said Kings Park head coach Rob Muller. "We won the league championship two years ago but we lost to Sayville last year. We scored in every single event. I'm actually pleased with this meet, but we could have been stronger and we're going to have to be at the Suffolk County meet this Friday. I think the girls have it in them to give it a challenge and they're ready to go."
Second place Eastport-South Manor picked up 75 points while Sayville was third with 67. Harborfields finished fifth with 44 points, Huntington sixth with 31 points, Comsewogue eighth with 17 and Rocky Point 10th with 9 points.
