POLICE REPORT Walk this way — not!

February 04, 2010 | 11:53 AM A resident of Justin Circle in Terryville called at 10:23 am Jan. 27 to report an unknown male walking by her house wearing headphones and a blue jacket. According to the complainant the subject was very suspicious and had walked past her dwelling at least one other time. The caller requested the police drive by her residence every hour to check on the situation.
Shell-shocked A complainant called at 7:30 pm Jan. 19 to report several youths gathered along North Country Road in Port Jefferson throwing eggs at passing vehicles. The teens had left upon police arrival.
Attacker busted
A 25-year-old male living on Bedford Avenue in Port Jefferson was arrested Jan. 24 at an incident location on Middle Country Road in Selden and charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury. The police reported the arrest stems from the defendant punching and kicking another male resulting in the victim sustaining a concussion, abrasions and lacerations that required treatment at the hospital.
Disturbance A resident of Sara Circle in Terryville called at 6:04 am Jan. 18 to report that a known cabdriver was throwing rocks at the rear window of a home in the nearby condominium complex. The cabbie left the scene prior to police arrival.
ER emergency A complainant called at 9:31 pm Jan. 20 from the parking lot of a hospital emergency room along North Country Road in Port Jefferson to report an adult male patient causing a disruption and requested police assistance. The arriving officers helped to resolve the situation.
Gates not working A complainant called at 6:54 pm Jan. 19 to report the gates were not going down at the railroad crossing across Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station as the train approached. Police notified railroad officials and safely secured the area until the problem was rectified.
Assault A male complainant called at 3:50 am Jan. 11 to report being assaulted by three black males at a location on George Street in Port Jefferson Station. The complainant refused any further police assistance upon the officer's arrival.
Petit larceny A security employee working at a clothing department store on Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station called at 1:50 pm Jan. 17 to report a female shoplifter who fled in a blue Nissan pickup truck with New York registration which he copied down and gave to the police.
Burglaries A male complainant called at 5:15 am Jan. 25 from a location on Fairway Drive in Port Jefferson to report his pickup truck and other vehicles on his property had been broken into and burglarized over the last three days.
Criminal mischief A female motorist called at 4:25 pm Jan. 17 to report another driver threw an unknown object at her vehicle and broke the windshield while both cars were driving along Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station.
Grand larceny A resident of Willis Avenue in Port Jefferson called at noon Jan. 27 to report an unknown person had stolen a book full of gold coins from his dwelling sometime over the last two months.
Forger fingered A 39-year-old female resident of East Broadway in Port Jefferson was arrested Jan. 24 at the 4th police precinct on Old Willets Path in Hauppauge and charged with forgery in connection with the defendant passing bad checks from a fake account.
