Three arrested for counterfeit $100s

| | | Dean Galasso (click for larger version) | | February 08, 2010 | 07:54 AM Police arrested three men Saturday on charges related to manufacturing and possession of counterfeit U.S. currency.
Sixth Squad detectives began an investigation Feb. 1 in response to incidents of counterfeit $100 bills being circulated in retail stores in Port Jefferson Station. Sixth Squad detectives, assisted by Computer Crimes Unit detectives, Sixth Precinct patrol officers and a Special Agent from the U.S. Secret Service, recovered counterfeit bills and computer and printing equipment utilized to manufacture and copy counterfeit currency during the investigation.
Arrested were:
● Dean Galasso, 21, of Dorn Place, Centereach, who was charged with Forgery 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd and 7th Degree;

● Edward Hall, 27, of 4th St., West Babylon, who was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st Degree.
Also arrested was William Daniels, 30, of Dorn Place, Centereach, who was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument.
The defendants were to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Feb. 7.
