RE:Reality
October 12, 2009 | 10:02 PM

Our money should be going to teachers that DESERVE it!! Very Simple! Not becasue a contract says we have to...you should be in it for the good of it. I know you said that is not reality, but pardon me for thinking that my children are in the hands of people that actually do what they committed themselves to do when they became teachers...You should be ashamed of yourself for even suggesting this...If teaching were a union free would you have chosen this profession? I seriously doubt it...Clearly you just want more blood from the dried out stones that we are.

And yes, we do teach our kids that the best path to a successful career is education, but if it's only money your after with no reagrd for others then become a lawyer or a politician but defintely not a teacher. Teachers should be held to a higher standard because they are responsible for much of what our kids learn. But that doesn't mean you get to hold their education hostage either...back to the point of teaching simply for the love fo teaching...

As for the programs that are run by teachers that get cut...I HOPE you are not referring to the sports teams, because you all should get FIRED for that alone. Except for the Field Hockey teams in the 80's, when was the last time CHS had teams worth anything? Get over yourself already.

For the person who says that the Super and the BOE make unreasonable demands, I'm SURE that if they were completely unreasonable, the big bad union would be involved so sing another tune...
