In 1964 Mrs. Augustitus began teaching high school students once again when she was offered a position to teach French and Latin at The Stony Brook School. When the school became co-ed in the early 1970s, Mrs. Augustitus gave extracurricular courses in knitting and crocheting. She taught at Stony Brook for 24 years, before retiring from that school in June 1988. In September 1987 Mrs. Augustitus accepted a part-time position to teach Latin at the Knox School.
