BEST MULTI-ADVERTISER PAGES
FIRST PLACE
The Village Times Herald, Setauket

This was chosen because of the successful
execution of the basic holiday shopper’s guide. The amount of advertising, the creativity in the advertising, the variety of advertising and the great use of color makes this an example for others to follow.

BEST SMALL SPACE AD
FIRST PLACE
The Village Times Herald, Setauket

With the contrast of black, grays and whites, the ad is very pleasing
to the eye. Laid out well with the use of such a small space.

BEST FRONT PAGE
FIRST PLACE
The Village Times Herald, Setauket

Colorful pictures on the front page along with synopsis of what’s inside.
Not too busy but makes the reader want to pick it up.

Best Small Space Ad
SECOND PLACE
The Village Times Herald, Setauket

Framed by the leaves is what caught my eye. The logo stands out and one main piece of artwork makes the ad simple, yet great looking.

Best News or Feature Series
SECOND PLACE
Arlene Gross
The Times of Huntington, Huntington

Not strictly a series but solid continuing coverage of an issue of great public interest and debate — the problem of day laborers congregating in the community.

Best Sports Coverage
SECOND PLACE
The Times of Huntington, Huntington

Just a solid commitment to local prep and college sports. A key to good community coverage is getting many photos and faces into the paper.

Classified Advertising
THIRD PLACE
The Village Times Herald, Setauket

Attractive first page — good navigation.

Best Obituaries
THIRD PLACE
Port Times Record, Port Jefferson/Mt. Sinai

Honest, with relevant photos.

Best Real Estate/Home Section

The Village Times Herald, Setauket

Timely topics for homeowners on home remodeling, gardening and basic maintenance. Nice blend of advertisers complementing editorial topics.
