Adele

The singer has unveiled a new collaboration with “Rolling in the Deep” director Sam Browne.

2021 was the year of Adele’s return, and she is still ready to surprise us. The other day the singer released the video for the song “Oh My God” from her fresh album “30”. Quite an energetic and vibrant start to the new year.

Sam Brown, who directed Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” music video in 2010, created a stunning black and white performance this time. Adele, like a true star, dressed in elegant robes (including those by Vivienne Westwood), with perfectly stylized hairstyles. But as the camera moves around the empty studio, there are also many actors in the spotlight, whose acting helps to get a better sense of the song’s meaning. (Judging by the credits, choreographers Megan Lawson and Taylor James are to be thanked.)

Adele masterfully creates powerful ballads, and though “Oh My God” is loaded with pop energy, it’s based on the singer’s typical delivery. Behind a kind of screen of mystery is a story of cautious falling in love with someone new, which surprises even herself.

Listeners are likely to draw a parallel between the song’s lyrics and Adele’s new relationship with sports agent Rich Paul, following her divorce from Simon Konecki. Speaking with Oprah Winfrey about her new romance, Adele admitted that for the first time she loved herself and opened her heart to love someone and be loved.

Between the release of her “Oh My God” music video and upcoming concerts in Las Vegas, Adele has a lot to celebrate this month. She posted a promising Instagram post early in the new year announcing, “Lots to do, I’m excited.
