Finnish DJ and producer YOTTO unveiled a music video recording of a DJ set he played at the Bengtscher Lighthouse in the Archipelago Sea.

Music at the lighthouse
The nearly two-hour video was recorded in late May of this year at sunset. The sun hiding in the waters, the rocky skerries and the tallest lighthouse in Northern Europe were the perfect backdrop for the performance.

The lighthouse is so famous in Finland that its description can be found in Tuve Jansson’s book “Mummy Daddy and the Sea.” “This lighthouse is probably the biggest one ever built. Moreover, do you realize that it stands on the last island before the edge of the world? No one lives beyond that island, there’s just an endless sea.

For YOTTO, the harmony between the music and the beauty of Finnish nature is very important, and he wants to share this with a wider audience. So in early March, he unveiled a similar video set of DJ sets from frosty Lapland. Like the lighthouse, the real listeners were just a few of the musician’s teammates and the wild animals around them. “Playing music in such conditions is a real blessing,” says the DJ, “I want as many people as possible to be able to feel these incredible emotions that literally overwhelm you.

YOTTO is a pseudonym of Finnish DJ and music producer Otto Yuliperttula, who works in house, deep house, techno genres. He released his debut album Hyperfall in 2018 and started his solo career at the same time. Before that he collaborated with various music groups. Worked on collaborative remixes with Coldplay, M83, Above & Beyond and many other well-known bands. “A man of many sounds,” American Billboard wrote about him. In 2020, YOTTO became “Electronic Music Artist of the Year” according to Finland’s main music award, EMMA GAALA.
